The objectives of the Peace with Justice Network are to:

  • enhance knowledge and understanding of different forms of violence that different racial, ethnic, religious, social and cultural groups are enduring in multiple contexts;
  • exchange and bring into dialogue how grassroots communities conceptualise and defend their rights and organize, strategise and mobilise to promote inclusion and equalities, and practice people and planet-centred educational paradigms that harness local cultures, histories and ecology of knowledges;
  • understand peculiarities of the nature of relationship between struggles of the marginalized communities for peace and stability and state responses to their struggles;
  • produce public-facing peacebuilding outputs that are contextually relevant and draw on local experiences of peace and learning from the network; and explore new avenues for development and humanitarian agencies to support these communities and work with the state authorities to reform institutions that neglect, exclude and repress local/indigenous knowledges and voices.
